Is Coaching Right For You?
People ask me quite often. “So what is Business and Leadership Coaching?” From experience as both a Coach and one who has been coached I say “A good Coach will take you and your organization past the point that you would usually stop if left to your own devices.”
The role Coaching can and will play in our own personal or business success is all about coming alongside individuals and organizations with objective of helping you meet your challenges head on.
So…think Coaching might be right for you?
First, you must ask yourself the question, “am I willing and open to being coached?”
Coaching as a process will only work if you are willing to engage in the process, and are open to actually being coached.
If you are reading this, more than likely you are already a highly effective leader. One who is in a position with significant responsibility. The ability to leverage your strengths in areas of constraint and need in as short and measurable period of time, is critical to the coaching process and ultimately your success.
Take a look at several reasons that Business and Executives engage a Coach and explore your responses to the following:
1. You are looking to achieve significant results, confront and solve a pressing challenge, and/or take advantage of a major opportunity.
2. You are looking for a credible, engaging, knowledgeable and experienced advisor.
3. You are willing and expecting to be held accountable for your results.
4. You are comfortable and value an outside perspective, and are willing to take calculated risks when necessary.
5. You are an “early adaptor” and are comfortable pushing boundaries of technology, business development and personal growth.
6. You are willing to answer tough, challenging questions about your performance and the performance of your company.
7. You are a visionary, with the need and desire to leave a lasting legacy for your company, family…and your career.
8. You have achieved a satisfactory level of success and are now looking for a level of significance that may be missing.
